Recent So Unusual Shoe Releases

An apology here, my RL and SL have been quite busy lately and so I haven’t been able to tend to my blogging duties the way I like, once again. A few days ago, Rowan Carroll of She’s So Unusual Shoes sent me a review pack of her most recent releases. I was delighted! I took pictures on a green screen with new Photoshop techniques under my belt! And then things got busier, and the pictures are sitting in a folder waiting to be edited. Le sigh. So in an attempt to make good, I bring you info about the recent releases using Rowan’s provided pictures and my assurance that the products do look as good in-world.

Recent So Unusual Shoe Releases

The first pair of shoes are the Lace Trim Pumps, shown here in the absinthe color (like what I got in the review pack). These shoes come in 9 colors, each pair is L$ 95 and are transferable only. These are flirty and fun, while at the same time remaining classic –  a real winner!

Second we have the Corset Wedges, shown here in the magellen color. Available in 8 colors, each pair is L$ 95 and transferable only. I’ve seen something very similar in real life, so these are a great addition to my wardrobe.

Next up we have the recent addition to the in-store Midnight Mania board, the BlackWhite TriRose T-straps. Since they’re in the board, if it reaches a certain number of participants, you get these for free! If you want a pair for yourself, you better get there early!

Now these aren’t just shoes, it’s a whole party pack you’re getting here, called Renee’s Bachelorette Party Pack, each pack contains the shoes pictured (here in pink), a veil that gives a random party favor on touch, a Bachelorette party check-list and a fun gesture to use at your party. There are 6 colors available for the packs, with each costing L$ 200 and gift-boxed ready to be given to the lucky lady.

Fifth we have the Cameo Low Pumps in the cointreau color. Available in 10 colors, once again each pair is L$ 95 and is transferable only. I bet these would come in handy for costume parties, role-playing, or any time you want to feel like a proper lady.

And finally, a really fun and wacky pair of shoes, the Penis Pumps! These irresistible shoes come in a whopping 21 colors, pictured here in rhubarb, and a multi-color version that you can get in the store if you are a member of the subscriber group. All you have to do is be in the group, teleport to the store, and hit up the kiosk! Easy peasy, huh? Anyway, each of the purchasable versions cost L$ 95 and transferable only.

I hope you enjoyed this round-up, and if you did, why not go see what else is available?

If you read my posts occasionally, you might have seen one about Seldom Blue’s new range of items and very first fashion show a couple of weeks ago.  After a successful production, IndigoBlue Dagostino, the designer behind the formal line, let me know she was ready to debut the first release tomorrow, “The Francesca Satin Dress”. Pictured above in the black and red versions, the dress will be available in seven colors, and comes with two short and a long skirt version for L$ 465.

As a very special promotion, you’ll be able to get your hands on two special versions of the dress. The first is a special mutli-color version of the dress, available for L$ 100.

The second will cost you only 1 Linden, and is the green version with the short, babydoll skirt. Both of these specials will only be available for a limited time, so if you want to pick them up, hurry over to Seldom Blue tomorrow night (August 26) and get yours!

SL Chic Critique is One Week Old!

SL Chic Critique is One Week Old!

SL Chic Critique officially launched one week ago today! I think we’re still the newest fashion-focused SL feed out there, so here’s a look at our stats for the last 10 days:

Stats for August 7th to August 17th, 2009

Unique visitors: 474
Number of visits:    1219
Hits    (3.47 Pages/Visit):    14326

I don’t know how that compares to anywhere else, but I am happy with it considering that we’re still pretty much in start-up mode. So a big thank you goes out to everyone who has applied to be on the feed, everyone who is reading it, and especially to my tech wizard/partner (not in that way!) Seattle Barbosa!

Remember, applying to be on the feed is easy peasy with the application form. We also have advertising available at a very competative rate…so check it out if you’re so inclined.

Now, it’s time for a happy dance! *dances away*

You Can’t Be Blue In Seldom Blue

You Can't Be Blue In Seldom Blue

I’ve done a number of posts on items from Seldom Blue by IndigoBlue Dagostino in the past and have always been surprised by her range in style. I was therefore naturally happy to hear that the store would be having it’s very first fashion show presented by Ewing Fashion Agency this weekend on Sunday, August 16 at 12PM SLT. I was also saddened because I knew I wouldn’t be able to make it having made previous plans in real life. Luckily for me, IndigoBlue very graciously gave me this dress to show you all. Don’t be jealous, IndigoBlue and the Seldom Blue brand are consistently generous, this dress can also be yours for free, if you attend the show on Sunday! I hear there might also be a few other goodies for those who are able to make it.

I absolutely adore this dress, from the color and the print, to the cut and the character of it. It’s called the Sylvia Silk Dress and I don’t know who Sylvia is, but she’s one lucky lady to have this beauty named after her. I would have paid a pretty amount for this dress so I hope I have done it some amount of justice here.

Curious about what you might see at the show? Well here’s some more info from the official press release: “The Seldom Blue Fashion show will involve a variety of different designs from their collection which will include new releases,  followed by the bridal collection. You will have a chance to have a peek at the fabulous new sexy lingerie and premiere release gowns.”

You can find more info about the show and the Seldom Blue brand on their blog.

Thanks For The Support!

Thanks For The Support!

I wanted to take the time to thank everyone who has supported SL Chic Critique going live. My partner Seattle Barbosa and I have been very surprised by the amount of interest and response in less than 48 hours! We’ve been working hard to make it not only highly functional, but a place where all types can get their SL fashion and product info.

If you’d like to have your blog added, there’s an easy form you can fill in and advertising is also available – just check out the links at the top of the homepage.

There’s A New Fashion Feed In Town…

There's A New Fashion Feed In Town...

I’m so happy and excited to announce that there is a new fashion feed available to everyone. It’s called SL Chic Critique and it’s owned by myself and my super-techy friend, Seattle Barbosa. Like many other feeds, there is advertising available and a form for anyone who is interested to submit their blog to the feed. I’ve already added a bunch of blogs which I’ve had on hand, which I hope is okay (if not, just let me know). The only form of moderation is to make sure the blogs are on the topic of Second Life, and aren’t filled with hate-speak or anything.

I hope there are no bugs to work out, but we’re only a couple days old, so if there are any kinks, please bare with us.

Thanks!

New Banner Up!

I just wanted to do a post to announce: I have a new blog banner! I can’t take credit for it, a friend of mine did it for me and I love how it turned out. Thank you so much to my graphic design angel!!!

A Few Of My Favorite Things

A Few Of My Favorite Things

I guess I’ve been in a mood to blog the things I really love lately – and this has led to other things being backed up. Folders have gone missing, inventory has been lost as well, and I’m tired of searching for things. So, I’m sticking to a few of my favorite things for the moment and hope you find my recent looks at least a little bit inspriring/fun/exciting or the positive descriptive word of your choice.

A Few Of My Favorite Things

Pink and turquoise is pretty much my favorite color combination, aside from pink and black. So, pink, turquoise and black is the natural progression, n’est ce pas? I know the newest items from LeLutka have been all over the blogs and feeds, but I have to expose you to it again because I LOVE THIS DRESS! Not only is the Nadia dress cute and stylish (and in my favorite colors) but it comes with 2 versions of the prim dress bottom, one with a compatible AO so you don’t have parts of your body poking out of the prims.

Simple black accessories tied this look together, and I pretty much just ransack my whole inventory until I found the pieces that worked for me. I’m sure this is what all the best bloggers do…right? The final finishing touch was this group gift skin from Vive9. It’s sweet and fresh-faced look made it the perfect match for the occasion – which was no occasion at all.
