Hi everyone, just wanted to let you all know that there won’t be any real blog posts here until I reinstall my picture-editing software and whatnot, although I haven’t gotten the chance to even locate it yet. I found out the other day that my computer had been compromised, so I reformatted and lost most things in the process. Now I’m busy reinstalling and trying to get some work done at the same time. Hopefully I’ll be back to blogging some time this weekend!

XOXO,

Kalia

Care For A Tease?

Care For A Tease?

You’ll have to bare with me here, I haven’t been feeling so well the last few days so I’m behind in my blogging.

When Sascha Frangilli of Sascha’s Designs told me she had another gown out after my last post, I was excited to see what she had come up with this time. Called Tease, the gown does not disappoint! As with most of ensembles at Sascha’s Designs, there are several options for wearing the gown, though I am only showing one here. Luckily, the store’s blog is well maintained and has great information and pictures if you want to see the other ways of wearing it. Tease is available in eleven colors, and each will only set you back L$ 550. The outfit includes: the top, short glitch pants, long glitch pants, gloves, short system skirt, long system skirt; and then the prim parts: Big Sucker Skirt, Sleek Skirt, Swooshy Skirt, Battleship Skirt, Flexi Skirt, 2 Sculpted Mini Skirts, Train,  2 Shoulder wraps (one for either shoulder), Stola and Shawl. In the picture I’m wearing the Stola and Flexi Skirt, I thought it made me sort of look like an opera singer as it reminded me of a great performance or stage gown. While I’m not a great actress, singer or diva, I think this still suits me quite well.

No Deception, Just Pure Elegance

It’s fall, the leaves are changing color and falling off the trees, the weather has turned cooler and we’re looking towards the holidays with anticipation. With many events possibly coming up in this season, a lady always requires something elegant and sophisticated to wear. Cue the Deception gown from Sascha’s Designs by Sascha Frangilli. It comes in five seasonally appropriate colors: the burgundy which I am wearing; as well as Autumn, Emerald, Indigo and Purple. Each costs L$ 400 and includes: top, glitch pants, long system skirt, gloves, prim collar, Battleship skirt (which I am wearing), Fluffy skirt and Big Sucker skirt. If you’d like to see other ways of wearing the gown you can check out the Sascha’s Designs website.

No Deception, Just Pure Elegance

Another item that is perfect for the holiday season is the Vixie Chocolate Pears from KessKreations by Kessert Steeplechase. I adore the simple design with the toggle closure. It’s a piece that you can wear in many ways but a little more unique since chocolate colored pearls seem less common, even in Second Life! However if you like to stick to a more traditional version, the necklace also comes in white. Each is L$ 200 and would make a great gift for someone special in your life *winks and nudges*.

Turn Up The Heat!

Turn Up The Heat!

I’m not talking about adjusting your thermostat – although you might be cold and that would then be a good idea – but I’m talking about “the heat”; that inexplicable thing that an item (or person) possesses, that makes you a little bit cuckoo.  And this kind of crazy can be good or bad, but in this case I would say it’s all good.

Turn Up The Heat!

Here is the part where you scream, “Just tell me what you’re wearing!”. Okay! The item that really sent my heart racing where these shoes from Kalnins by Maris Kanto. They are called Boudoir and they can be worn in the bedroom for sure, but that would be a waste if only you and your significant other saw them. They are scripted to color change with a special HUD that was fairly easy to use. This means that for L$ 800 you get any number of possible combinations, which could satisfy even the most picky fashionista.

Another obviously hot item is the Gynni dress from House of Hucci by Eboni Khan. The dress comes in seven colors and each costs L$ 275. I adore the sparkly detail on the prim part of the top and used it as a point of reference in styling the rest of my outfit. Another cute detail is the painted on belt, which makes the dress a little more unique when paired with the sparkles.

And check out my huge ‘do! Sometimes a girl just has to wear some big hair, and the Feliz style from Simply Britnee by Britnee Hadlee. The great thing about this store, as I mentioned before, is the pricing! All the colors for a given style come in one pack for L$ 200, which makes the indecisive or  the chameleons like myself, very happy.

On a somewhat unrelated topic, my feed SL Chic Critique turns 3 months old today! I am still surprised and flattered by how it’s growing. If you’d like to have your blog added or check out some very reasonable advertising space, there are links at the top of the home page to contact us for both cases.

Slither Into This

Slither Into This

There is something about snakeskin, and animal prints in general, that brings out the hedonistic side of me. I’ve had this love affair with these naturally exotic patterns for as long as I can remember. In any case, I jumped at the chance to show one of the latest gowns from Seldom Blue by IndigoBlue Dagostino, called the Mia Dress. Due to time constraints, I’m showing you one way of wearing it, but it comes with the top (on all layers) short and long glitch pants (on both layers), short and long system skirts, the long prim skirt and a shorter, flouncy, prim skirt. There are numerous ways to combine the pieces for L$ 465, and if snakeskin isn’t your thing there is also: cheetah, tiger, snow leopard and crocodile. As always, there are special versions of this dress on promotion, one red floral version with a big bustle skirt option for L$ 1oo, and a L$ 1 special dress in a blue floral with a short, frilly prim skirt.

Slither Into This

By the way, the clutch is from IndigoBlue’s partner in crime, Singsong Writer of Eternity Silks. The clutch bag is L$150 and comes in the same prints as the Mia Dress range. The ad shows the details of the bag, which I find to be the perfect size and shape for everyday use, not just being matched with the dress.

My pose is one of the upcoming releases from Glitterati by Katey Coppola. Right now there is sale going on at the store to celebrate their expansion and purchase of a sim. All poses are L$ 100, pose packs are L$ 100 and fatpacks are discounted by 50% or less of the sale price. A lot of the stock is going to be retired, so you have just a few short weeks to get the ones you want before they disappear…

Skin fair is just days away, and with that in mind I bring you a preview of 3 new skins from GeEs Design by Gandalf Edman which will debut at the event. This post is picture heavy, so prepare yourself! I picked out one makeup from each of the lines to show you.

Tara, Well Travelled..

First we have the Tara America skin, in the Alabama make-up. I love the deep, rich, tone of the skin. The make-ups are all named after American states.

Tara, Well Travelled...

I especially like the details, like the shading of the bum!

Tara, Well Travelled...

I was surprised how well this skin suited me, the Tara America is officially my favourite of the three.

Please read on after the cut for more pictures and important details!

Quite The Ingenue

Quite The Ingenue

Oh my, I’m not feeling very creative with the title of my post it seems. Who can really blame me though? When you look this classy and put together, you end up staring at yourself in the mirror a lot and everything else seems not so very important.

Today’s blouse and skirt are both from Ingenue by Betty Doyle. I can never resist blogging anything from this store, but I especially have a weakness for versatile separates or items that can easily be mixed and matched. They make me happy in the skirt. *winks saucily* The top is called Stenno and is available in 10 colors for L$ 125 each or as a fatpack for L$ 900. It comes on all 3 top layers with prim collar and cuffs. The bottom of the shirt, which is hidden here, but trust me, is cut in a v-style so if you’re not wearing a more high-waisted skirt or pants, you’ll flash a slip of stomach. As long as you’re reasonably in shape, this shouldn’t be a problem. The skirt is called Secretary (get it, like a secretary who uses shorthand – a stenographer?) and also comes in 10 colors and is once again L$ 125 for one or L$ 900 for all ten.

I guess this is a short post this time around, but I have more stuff coming your way in the near future!

Blues In The Bag

It’s been a few days since I’ve shown you what I’m wearing, so I hope you’re ready for another one!

Blues In The Bag

I like to sometimes wander around, and many times it’s alone. So today I made friends with this guy and asked him to pose with me. After a little bribery (good thing I can fish) he finally agreed.

Blues In The Bag

Moving on to the fashion, I’m wearing a new skin from a store that is completely new to me! This is the Claudia skin in the suntanned tone from Fior di Perle Skins & Shapes by Pearl Vollmar. These skins are only sold in singles packs, each single comes with 1 eyeshadow option, but 4 colors of lipstick. A facelight, lashes, shape and 3 brow bases are included for the price of L$ 990. I seem to favor dark eyeshadow and more natural lips recently, but there are plenty of makeup styles for you to check out in the store.

Blues In The Bag

Here’s a closer look at two recently released accessories. First we have the Summer Straw Bag in blue from Dark Mouse by Mouse Mimistrobell. Inside the bag resides freshly picked sunflowers, a baguette, a bottle (of wine?) and other goodies. The bag is sold as a pack of four, including the red, black and gold versions for L$ 200. The shoes are the latest SlipOns from Kalnins by Maris Kanto. These sweet babies are scripted with eleven leather colors, shininess, glow, and resize for L$ 500.

Also, I used a pose for the pictures from {flowey} by Flutter Memel. I had heard of the store before, and had a freebie pose from some hunt from the store, but never really had a look before. The single poses run from L$ 30 – 40, and the sets vary depending on how many poses are included although the price is discounted from the full amount you’d pay if you bought each one separately. The poses are kind of quirky, which I really like, and have equally cute names. The poses are fun, the price is right, what’s not to like?

Style: Blogged

I just wanted to let everyone know about an interesting blog piece that Annie Paster did over on her blog, Cupcake’s Cookies and Cream. She asked a whole slew of SL residents how they would describe their personal style and what style means to them. I was happy to be asked and included, and if you read the responses, there are some really thought-provoking ones.

Another post will follow from me some time today with the “Look Of The Day”, but go read that answer session over at Annie’s blog!

Until later my pretties…

Katherine, Gone Retro

With several new releases over the last few days, I put together this look with some of my favorite new and older items. Starting at the top, I’m wearing the Cleopatra II hair from Simply Britnee by Britnee Hadlee. You get the full color pack of 36 for only L$ 200! No, that’s not a typo, it’s an incredible deal and all the packs of hair are priced similarly. Two other hairstyles, Cleopatra and Cleopatra III were released at the same time, so have a gander at those at well since demos are free.

My skin is the newest from Free Speerit by Desidelia Vella called Katherine. This is the original tone, but there is also a tan and pale version. Each of the 3 tones come in 8 versions of makeup, and cost L$ 995 for a single makeup, L$ 3590 for a pack of 4 skins, or L$ 5990 for all 8. The skins have a tintable beauty mark, hair base and eyebrow options. Each skin comes with a free shape, several versions of eyebrows, eyelashes 2 pubic hair options and facelight as well. Basically, you’re getting a whole whack of stuff when you buy a skin here. I love the smokey eyes and pink lips of the Desire makeup. It’s classy and glamorous enough to match with a variety of outfits, like the vintage dress I’m wearing.

I’ve been a long-time fan of  Ingenue by Betty Doyle and have many items that I’ve acquired over the years. The latest release is this dress called Gene which comes in four colors: The Blues (shown), Emerald, Red Hots and Noir; each will set you back only L$ 250. I love all of the colors, but since the blue was so fresh and airy, like how I’m feeling today, I decided that I would go in this direction. It also complimented the pink of the lipstick nicely, so I was very happy with how this turned out.

Well darlings, it’s time for me to flutter off and catch a film…I’m thinking of a Marilyn Monroe gem, like “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes”. Oh heck, I knew I should have gone to the salon first!
